Tops Pharmacy in Alden, NY | Be Prepared to wait

The Tops Pharmacy sign should read, I was not listening in class, so now I don’t know how to use the software. Please wait while I fumble through the menus and don’t make eye contact.

The staff are usually nice except the Pharmacist Amy, she is the most disorganized person ever. blames everyone else, from the doctors to the computer. Its a shame because it only take one to ruin the customer experience.

The Mayonnaise Jar and 2 Cups of Coffee…

Author Unknown.

When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours in a day are not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar…and the coffee…

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.

So the professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous “yes.”

The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed.

“Now,” said the professor, as the laughter subsided, ” I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are the important things-your God, your family, your children, your health, your friends, and your favorite passions-things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full. The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house, and your car.The sand is everything else-the small stuff.

“If you put the sand into the jar first,” he continued, “there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you. Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play with your children. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your partner out to dinner. Play another 18 holes. There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal.” Take care of the golf balls first, the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.”

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented.

The professor smiled. “I’m glad you asked. It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there’s always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend.”

OMG, Adobe Software Support. PC to Mac gone bad.

So I took the plunge and switched to a Mac, no small feat for a PC geek like me.
So I had to reinstall the MAC version of my software. Microsoft, no problem they had a form for that, and in minutes i was typing in my Mac Key.

In almost every case the PC Key just worked on the MAC.

Then I get to Adobe CS5, no form. So I email tech support, I must return my software. So I fill in the forms, then they tell me I cannot get a key i need new disks. I say, but I am using the trial, I just need the key. They say no, a week to 10 days and you have to pay for the CD-ROM, how silly.

1 hour and 5 minutes to find all this out.

The Amazing Van Der Heyden in Napa Valley.

On a recent business trip to San Francisco we decided to extend our stay and visit the Napa and Sonoma region of California. After checking into our hotel we set out with the intent of getting lost. We made lefts and rights all the time scoping out the little wineries.
after our second stop we stumbled on a real gem of Napa. Van Der Heyden Vineyards, http://www.vanderheydenvineyards.com
The property is defiantly not corporate. For example, their tasting room is like an old shed with character.
So we opened our minds and started to taste the wine. I am not a big fan of whites, but my friend said he “loved this wine”.
Then we tasted the late harvest desert wine, OMG it simply blew the top of my head off in both fullness and flavor.
Well done

I could truly sense the love that this family has for wine making.
